SWINE

The honorary decked in camouflage,
with tired feet on desert lands,
where the sun is sure
to blister flesh
instead of tans.

Special forces flown in
from Colorado’s Peterson,
to this God forsaken
yogurt land;
the borders of
Isfahan.

Lieutenant Dutch,
commanding
unilateral attacks
against the enemy,
but in his mind;
he envisions Camelot.

Blood, and death,
and death, and blood,
the aftermath of altercations
with the leaders’
of the
Promised land.
