LOVE AND WAR
Come darling, have some champagne
lets be merry, even if it’s just for the moment.
Lets put our bitter sorrows, our fights,
our transgressions
to the morrow.
Lets bury them deep in the somnolent earth
no tears shed to douse the soil
for new birth….
so possibly we may start anew.
As the blossom of the chicory buds
emerge from their dormant hiatus
into eyes of new light.
Let our tormented hearts,
our omnibus games of upmanship
that has run amok,
with deceit to our psyches,
be absolved.
I believe darling,
that we have crossed over
the bridge, explored each others
parameters
and are now at a plateau.
Let the chords of allegro offshoot
and disperse in mockery.
No darling, your scrutable mind
has not created any fragmentation
of Orphic morale.
I still love you dearly.
You still make me feel breathy
with lust and aching,
with the gender of your
of your maleness.
More champagne darling,
a cigarette?
We are happy now
Aren’t we?
Let Athena forbear
till the morrow, when
our nocturnal wounds
begin to seep.
We will recuperate alongside,
entwined in each others arms
till daybreak
and our war of
love and hate resumes.
Lets dance and be merry
tonight.
