THE CHICAGO DIEHARDS
Shady McIntyre and his hangout gang
Sitting at the bar and watching the game.
Looking like penguins as they huddle in a row
Loosened and drunk and anything goes.
Solidifying their justified lack
From a foaming mug of buckhorn brew.
Hip notes of gypsy jazz,
Ode to Billy Joe
As Reinhart strums with lily-skill
Guitar and soul aglow.
Applauding as an aftermath
With electrifying gale
As the hangout gang and Shady,
Eager countenance and boyhood glee,
Now drunk on the barley of the buckhorn brew,
Shady McIntyre takes a right steep fling
To the midsection of Johnny McGee.
As the story goes - a rumble ensues
Fists colliding at fiery speed
An opportune left with Johnny’s best
And the rest is history.
WORDS USED: Chicago diehard Shady McIntyre
