Breakdown

She watches as the lukewarm
Artichoke shifts to
Huddle sadly
Afloat the
Yellow
Sunspot of butter.


Drunk she is,
Beatrice,
On the degradation of this windfall,
This warmish waif of a vegetable,
A miracle of botany,
Aching on the oilcloth.
